Our dogs learn best through small and regular training sessions. A few minutes a day soon adds up, but we all know how hard it is to keep on track. It is also easy to forget the very first sessions when your dog was still working out what was being asked.
Those first eureka moments fade from our memories quickly as we strive to push ahead. Learning is never a straight line, but it is still easy to feel demotivated when progress feels slow.
To help clients get past these hurdles, I found that giving them a simple tick box chart made a noticeable difference. It gave them something steady to follow and stopped the usual drift.
I wanted to make it even easier, especially for behaviour cases where people are already juggling a lot. That is where the idea of fridge charts came from. Something you can stick in plain sight and update in seconds. Just a straightforward way to keep the training moving.
